Cherry Espresso Bar on Laurel St is a celebration of coffee, culture, and community.
Guests can explore three espresso options at all times — our house Lagniappe blend, a rotating single-origin, and a Swiss Water–processed decaf — alongside hand-crafted pour overs and a rotating curated selection of retail coffees.
Our beloved Beverage Flight invites guests to slow down and taste the difference, pairing a single-origin espresso with a Lagniappe macchiato, served with sparkling water to cleanse the palate and deepen guests understanding of contrast of the espressos.
Cherry Coffee on Laurel St made their opening debut in March 2016, but before that the 90-year-old building was a fire house and eventually the Uptown Youth Center by The New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD.) Local legends The Neville Brothers worked with NORD to use the Uptown Youth Center as a place to mentor children, have music lessons, and even create some of the most historic Mardi Gras Indian garments and headdresses.
The building became vacant after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and was eventually sold by the city in 2013. Cherry Coffee has made the Laurel St location a home for the community to come together and enjoy conversation and coffee while keeping the New Orleans culture intact.
